January 9: Making your Body Work for You, noon – 2:00 pm
Lunch and learn session about the benefits of physical therapy and exercise before, during and after cancer treatment. We will explore strategies for combating fatigue and discuss safe ways of return to regular exercise activities. January 13: Internet Research Workshop--Searching the Medical Literature, 6:00 – 7:30 pm
How to use the National Library of Medicine PubMed/MEDLINE database most effectively—how to get citations to fewer but more relevant articles, or how to “cast a broader net” to find information about rarer cancers/disorders. There will also be a demonstration of some of the National Cancer Institute resources online, and other databases of interest. Wireless internet access will be available for laptop computer users. January 27: Transition After Treatment Workshop, 5:30 pm
Hosted by George Washington Hospital’s Breast Care Center, the workshop is free of charge and open to any breast cancer survivor who has recently completed treatment. Reservations are requested by contacting Holly Segal at 202-741-3158, or hsegal@mfa.gwu.edu.

January 28: Holy Cross Hospital’s Breast Cancer Support Group, 6:30 pm

January 31: Soup and Broadway Sing-Along, 6 – 8:30 p.m.
The soup and sing-along will be at The Wellness Community, 5430 Grosvenor Lane, Suite 100, Bethesda, MD. If you enjoy creating a healthy and delicious soup on a cold winter day (or would like to learn how to do so), join us at 4 p.m. to make the soup. If you just want to enjoy eating the soup, then come at 6 p.m. and bring bread, dessert or a beverage to share. After dinner, join the fun for a Broadway Sing-Along.
