Open Door facilitators organize and lead educational sessions in their communities. Network of Strength is seeking breast cancer survivors and healthcare professionals to fill this role on a local level. >>Learn more about this opportunity.
Volunteers are needed to assist with events that take place throughout the year. Some events are geared towards fundraising, while others are more oriented towards outreach. All events are intended to promote Breast Cancer Network of Strength’s services and breast cancer awareness.
Our Walk to Empower is held every Mother’s Day in May and our Annual Pink Links Open Golf Event is held in August. Volunteers participate in long-term planning as event committee members, they participate by working on projects leading up to each event, and they assist with the day-of event needs.
Volunteers are needed to represent Breast Cancer Network of Strength Mid-Atlantic at various community functions such as health fairs, volunteer fairs and community festivals. They offer basic information about Breast Cancer Network of Strength’s services and help to raise breast cancer awareness.
Advocacy Network Members receive alerts via e-mail, fax or phone with timely information about contacting local, state and/or federal elected officials when important breast cancer-related legislation is under consideration. >>Learn more about how you can impact breast cancer legislation.
Volunteers are needed to assist with general administrative duties such as mailings, data entry, correspondence, and filing. They are an important part of our regular operations.
Our local newsletter, Images, is in need of volunteer support with copy editing, story and photo contributions. We also are in need of an Editor to coordinate communication between the Mid-Atlantic office, contributing writers and copy editors.
