Support Groups
Breast Cancer Network of Strength support group meetings are held regularly for breast cancer patients, survivors and all who are concerned with breast cancer. These meetings provide a supportive and safe environment for women who have experienced breast cancer to express themselves and listen to others discuss breast cancer.
Amongst Friends is a Breast Cancer Network of Strength support group, which meets on the third Thursday of the month from 6:30-8:00pm at Southern Maryland Hospital Center, 7503 Suratts Road, Clinton, MD 20735. This group will NOT meet during the summer months, but will resume meetings in September. For more information, contact our office at 703-437-9595.
Friends Like Me is a Breast Cancer Network of Strength support group for long-term breast cancer survivors, 2 years to 50 years post treatment. This group meets the first Monday of every month from 7:00-8:30 pm. at the Reston Public Library, 11925 Bowman Towne Drive, Reston, VA. No meeting in July. Next meeting will be held on Monday, August 2. For more information contact our office at 703-437-9595.
With Friends is a Breast Cancer Network of Strength support group for breast cancer survivors in all stages of diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. This group meets the first Wednesday of every month from from 6:30 – 8:00 pm at Reston Hospital’s Women’s Imaging Center, 1860 Town Center Parkway, Suite 400 Reston, VA 20190. Their next meeting will take place on Wednesday, August 4. For more information contact our office at 703-437-9595.
In case of adverse weather, support groups will be cancelled based on the cancellation of public school classes where the support group meets. For example, if a group meets in Fairfax Co. and the Fairfax Co. schools have been cancelled that day because of weather; the support group will not meet.
