Breast Cancer Network of Strength is seeking breast cancer survivors to fill volunteer positions as presenters of our Just for Teens Program. The Just for Teens program is an educational program which teaches teenage girls about breast health awareness through presentations, informational videos, and working with breast models.The volunteer position will be responsible for presenting the Network of Strength Teen Program to high schools in the San Diego school districts.
Please note: This program is currently piloting in San Diego only.
Present the Network of Strength Teen Program workshop to high school-aged young women
Actively pursue opportunities to present the Network of Strength Teen Program in your community
Generate relationships with local schools, youth centers, youth organizations, etc.
Maintain records as outlined by the program’s quality assurance guidelines;
Serve as an ambassador for Network of Strength programs and services to participants, as well as promote Network of Strength within the community.
Must be a breast cancer survivor with a minimum of one year out of treatment
Must have successfully satisfied Network of Strength’s Teen Program training requirements
Good verbal and presentation skills
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse group of people
Prior experience with training in small group settings
Ability to relate to teenagers
