Survivorship: After Treatment Ends

Network of Strength

In the U.S., there are more than 10 million cancer survivors; with 14 percent of them 20-year survivors. As a result, the phenomenon of being a cancer survivor is being examined in a new way, and living with cancer can be similar to having a chronic disease like diabetes. We all know it is necessary to fight the disease, but it’s also essential to live the life you want.

In this section, you’ll learn about the many meanings of survivorship and read tips for living as a breast cancer survivor.

If you would like to talk about anything you read here, please get in touch with us at the YourShoesTM 24/7 Breast Cancer Support Center. The peer counselors at YourShoes help people touched by breast cancer feel the strength and support they need. You can also visit the Network of Strength message boards to chat with your peers.
